iRooms   How secure is your   virtual data room? imprima logo

Imprima's iRooms service is leading the field in security.

Over the past few years, the rapid growth in the use of virtual data rooms has only been matched by the desire of hackers and in-house corporate IT teams to crack their security.

The security of Imprima's iRooms service is widely acknowledged by clients to be one of the leading technologies in the market today. Examples are:
  1. Feedback from our clients reveals that on one rival's online data room, parties who do not have Adobe Acrobat Reader installed could enter the virtual data room unchecked and obtain access to confidential documents. This potentially disables the security and allows rogue users to view, save and print files inside.

iRooms uses a combination of state of the art security measures, including prohibiting entry to the room without the presence of a recognised version of Adobe Acrobat Reader, to ensure that security features within the iRoom - save, print and copy disablement - are fully protected.

  2. Our clients have told us that on another virtual data system, the online login mechanism allows hackers to "fish" for information regarding who else may be involved on the deal, by entering potential email addresses until a valid user-ID is confirmed - thus potentially jeopardising the confidentiality of competing bidders.

iRooms cannot reveal your details to others in this way. Our login mechanism does not provide any indication on entry of a username as to whether it is valid or not. Protection is further enhanced by our 24/7 assistance, requiring a user to answer key security questions before any user access can be re-enabled - effectively guarding against "fishing" for information by unauthorised hackers.

  3. Users of another well-known competitor to iRooms report that the system allows them to capture screenshots straight from the keyboard - rendering easy reproduction of critical information within a document, and potentially the entire database.

iRooms' security measures include extinguishing all screen-captured information, ensuring that the document cannot be copied and printed via the PC's keyboard commands.

  4. Some of our clients have been told that TIFF formatted files are supposedly more secure than PDF because they do not download to the PC. This is not true.

TIFF viewers and PDF Adobe Acrobat Reader both cache data on the user's PC. As PDF offers a better viewing experience, iRooms uses 128 bit encryption to secure the documents and the transmission layer.
Imprima's iRooms service has been independently reviewed by both software security professionals and leading investment banks with excellent results. iRooms addresses many of the security weaknesses that hamper competing sites.
